Arby's five for $5.95 Thu, 05/3/07 5:30 PM (permalink)
I was driving down interstate from Sioux City to Knoxville and I kept seeing billboards advertising Arby's five for $5.95. I am not sure what it mean't??

I did not stop as I was in somewhat of a hurry to get to appointments and Knoxville.

They have a menu consisting of about 9 items. You can pick any of those items for $5.95. In otherwords, you could get 5 roast beef sandwiches for $5.95 or 5 sodas for $5.95. From what I remember, some of the items are:

    Roast Beef sandwich
    Curly fries
    Onion Petals
    Soda
    Some dessert thingie
    Potato pancakes

    You get the gist.

That sounds like a good deal if I was interested in eating at Arby's, which I am not!

I live for the 5 for $5.95. The menu also includes a ham and cheese sandwich and shakes. The desert thingie you speak of is most likely Arby's turnover.

gee - too bad the sandwiches aren't on the list. They're the only thing (besides maybe the curly fries) worth ordering. The rb sandwiches are terrible. I think they're caled "market fresh" sandwiches.

Don't know why, but I like Arby's roast beef sandwich, but when I tried the 4 for 5 special in Tampa 2 months ago, the sandwiches had all of about 2 slices of meat.

Usually the sandwiches on the 5 for $5.95 Arby's deals are the "Melts"

Less than one ounce of RB and a couple of squirts of the bland pale hot cheese sauce used on the beef-n-cheddar or the same puny amount of thin sliced ham and some swiss cheese. Stick with the full size, Giant or what they used to call a Big Montana (Before Brokeback Mountain became a household word.

I usually get the melt - hold the cheese. Pretty much a regular roast beef sandwich, since they don't offer one on the deal.

What I don't like is that unlike other FF joints value menus, you have to buy five items - one day, I ordered only three things off the $5.95 deal, and when they gave me a total of over $7.50, I added 2 cherry turnovers, which dropped the price over a dollar.

Ours has a sign for the beef 'n' cheese and the ham 'n' cheese. Just can't do it...

Yes they were Cheddar Melts. And Scorereader, I guess part of the appeal is the fact that Arbys here in Baltimore are few and far between, so I rarely have to opportunity to stop there.

Personally, I love Arby's melts and these are just the right size.

Amazing to me that Arby's or Hardee's can even make enough $ to keep the lights on. I don't like either place, and VERY VERY VERY Seldom ever go to one of them, and I never see very many vehicles in their lot at any time of the day or night.

                          Someone MUST like them.
