Does Arby's still sell its bacon cheesburger anywhere? I stopped in at the one in Plantsville yesterday and it was absent from the menu. (as well as the onion petals) However they do have a pretty good new chicken sandwich there, I believe it was called the Southwest Chipotle Crispy Chicken sandwich or something along those lines.

It was never a staple for them but they did at one time have what I think was a 1/3 lb bacon cheeseburger which was pretty good. Before yesterday, my last time at Arby's was more than six years ago so I guess it couldve been dropped since then.

Huh, I never knew they sold burgers either. I thought their whole strategy was to be something besides a burger joint. I don't think the one in my town had them as I was there pretty regularly and I don't recall ever seeing them on the menu. Maybe they were just tested in a few areas.

I googled it and I found an article from 22 years ago that said they were going to test 1/3 lb hamburgers, including a bacon cheeseburger, in Atlanta and Youngstown, OH and that they were planning a national rollout. I don't remember the national rollout so the terst must not hav ewent as well as expected. Then again, in 1984 I was 13. http://calbears.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3190/is_v18/ai_3313015

Steve Most of the Mickey D's in New England has the lobstah' roll on the menu in the "warmer" months.. Appears around April/May, and Usually disappears around October it seems. (If my recollection is correct?)

I worked at Arby's for two years when I was in high school. Never knew them to have burgers, although they did try the "Great American" roast beef for a while. Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo, Pickles, Onions, Catsup and Mustard. Gross. I still roll through the drive-thru once in a while . I have yet to get sick of it. Then again, as I grew older I would find myself likening the 'beefs' to babies. They come out of the oven, slippery as hell, spewing all kinds of goo. It's all you could do to hold onto them. Sometimes they would just slip loose and wind up on the floor. What's a dad to do? Give 'em a quick wash and send him right to the slicer. Ah Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Perhaps you are confusing Arby's with Hardee's? Not too long ago Hardee's shifted to burgers (they called them "thickburgers") from roast beef. I don't think it was terribly successful, though.

It seems that Hardee's Roast beef is exactly the same as Arby's. It tastes that way to me.

We don't have any around here anymore but Hardee's was always a burger place and not sliced beef ala Arby's. I do remember Arby's back in the day when you saw a big roast and saw them slice off the meat for your sandwich, this was 1970's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardee's

Just do the 5 for $5.95 deal and throw away 4 of the buns. That also worked on 2 of the 99c BK whopers but those are long gone around here. It's tha horsee sauce I love. joe

The Arby's here in Versailles, KY, used to (for a short time) have the 1/3 pound burger and it was good. It wasn't greasy, and the veggies were fresh. They've ruined many of their sandwiches, IMO, the Super has a limp piece of lettuce and a sad tomato instead of shredded lettuce and nice looking and tasting tomatoes. The Beef and Cheddar ain't what it used to be either. I think the only thing that still might hold a candle to the past is the plain Arby's roast beef. But, maybe I've just grown up! Andrea

I must agree w/ you Andrea! I used to like the Cheddar's. They changed something. I still get the regs 5 for $5.95 from time to time. I do not think they are as good as a few years back but I still get em. I combine for extra meat and put lots of Arby's and horsey sauce. Joe

I like Arby's now and then. The beef with the cheese sauce is really good; so are the potato cakes. Their Jamocha shake isn't bad either.

the jamocha shake has lost something too over the years it depends on how much stuff they mix into it, cause sometimes I might as well order the vanilla shake. I love the jamocha shakes, my diabetes doesn't

They sliced the RB to order as you describe. John
