Arlene's on Asbury, Ocean City

There is a nice little place on Asbury around Sixth Street, called Arlene's that Ms OC and I like for breakfast. There is a very homey atmosphere and a very friendly staff. You may very likely be waited on by Arlene herself. They open every day at 7:00 am year round. They have the standard breakfast fare, omlettes, French toast, pancakes etc. The last time we were there I went for a nice plate of SOS. Very rich and buttery. Yes there is toast under there. Mrs OC went for a mushroom and cheese omlette. Everything is always very good, and they sure give you plenty. Our check is usually about $17 or $18.

Very nice pictures. It looks as though you get some decent sized portions and shouldn't leave hungry. Thanks for the report.

Nancy - wondered the same thing. Sh!t on a shingle perhaps, wait that's chipped beef, isn't it? Looking again, maybe that is it.

Sorry folks, I should not have assumed that everyone knew what SOS meant. Yes. it is SxxT on a shingle, otherwise known as creamed chipped beef on toast. Chris

Hey don't worry Chris, I know what you meant but only because I have seen people refer to it on here before... ! ahhh Roadfood.com, the educational site :D Those are beautiful looking breakfasts ! lovely freshly cooked food and generous portions. Sometimes it makes me sad the amount of delicious food I am never going to get to taste in my lifetime !

bethgrd OCEAN CITY MD OR NJ??????? YOU HAVE TO BE MORE SPECIFIC; THIS IS A NATIONAL SITE. I was wondering the same thing until I saw the canvas in the top picture with a phone number containing the 609 area code, which is for New Jersey.
