No.........no! Not rebuttals; just opinions and often "most humble opinions".

I have a long way to go as I have only been to one of these joints and it is Sweatman's. I reallly loved it.

Sweatman's is a good one to have been to if you only made it to one.

I have been to four of the group listed I am sure Buffetbuster and WJ has been to all of them. BBQ is like beauty and is in the eye or taste of the beholder. Each region seems to prefer what they have become accustomed to.

I personally prefer whole hog and Texas sausage and brisket. NC vinegar based sauce is a little bit farther on down the list and SC mustard based sauce is a little farther down the list.

I like a sweet mildly hot sauce.

Nice article,I've been to all but Minnie's in Frisco, and Lem's on the south side of Chicago.

Sweatman's was closed when we attempted the road trip, but it is still on the list-if the kids don't sell it first.

As a comp cook, certified bbq judge, and most of all a diner,I'd consider all those as true destination bbq joints.

Are they the ones that are the "BEST",I don't know, but I could certainly see why they have had their following and worth a trip.

    Sorry Paul,

I've only been to two- Cozy Corner and Big Bob Gibson's.

I tried to make it to Sweatman's back in February but arriving 3 hours late in Raleigh prevented that

I have every intention of visiting LC's in June

I haven't been to them all either, Paul. But three of them that are on the list Lexington #1, Skylight Inn and Cozy Corner are on the short list of my very favorites as is Sweatman's. I'm hoping to make it to Cooper's this week while in Texas.

A list of every visited city would give a better idea of what went into the article. Otherwise it looks as if the research might've been limited mainly to places that have reputations.

My wife grew up in Raytown, MO. short distance from LC's. Her family swears by it.

Glad that made it. Arthur Bryants has lost it.

    LCs congrats!
