Aspen, CO Food shack next to ballfields

I worked in the kitchens of various restaurants in Aspen, Colorado from the summer of 1981 through late spring of 1982 While I was there, the very best cheap place to eat was a little shack of a place right next to the ballfields in the center of town (more or less). You could walk out the door of the place and be on the ballfields within 5 steps or so, as I recall. I don't remember the name of the place, but they served a wonderful french-bread-like pizza called the Big Slice, as well as an excellent cheeseburger with melted white american and grilled onions. Anyone familiar with that area know if this place still exists, and regardless of that, what it's name was and/or now is?

My guess is that it was a "teardown" , and 5 condos replaced it!

TJ Jackson Well, one asks a serious question, one hopes for serious answers Hey, buddy, I was feeling for you , as nobody had answered your post at ALL .. I know when I post I like someone to give me a little attention, even if it's just a humorous type of response... Let's face it.... it's been almost 30 years, and I doubt there are too many "shacks" left in Aspen... that's where I was getting at with my response before... but you did'nt seem to get it... no harm meant !!

Mr Jackson, I feel your near and dearness. One of the few reasons I had to go back to to N. E. Ohio was my favorite pizza of all time. It isn't there any longer. So now I am just left w/ Taggart's Ice Cream and Kennedy's B'que In Canton. Well, yes, I still have friends and family there, but is just isn't the ????????

TJ, My wife and I may be going up there in a few weeks. If we do I'll take some pics and fill you in on the details. Your talking about Rio Grand Ball Field?
