Astronaut Ice Cream

I was not sure if this topic would be better suited for the “snacks and candy” forum, but here goes: Has anyone here ever tried freeze dried or “astronaut ice cream” ?

I remember it well, freeze dried neopolitan ice cream. Delicious.
You can buy it in space museums, space/sky/planet shops.

oregon freeze dry (mountain house) has the real stuff, freeze-dried ice cream sandwiches. pretty expensive, but i hike with a few people who love them anyway.

So... how are they re-hydrated and frozen (again)

The freeze dried ice cream is simply eaten like a candy bar right from the bag. It is really good.

You can get the ice cream sandwiches from museums and stuff like that as well. I don't eat them often, but they haven't changed since the 80's when I was in highschool and got them.
