BBQ Chicken...or Chicken & Beer

...the site is a bit questionable (www.bbqchickenusa.com), but there's a BBQ Chicken one in Chelsea here in NYC, and having passed it several times the last month or two, my friend and I stopped in...
The service stunk, but the food was so good. I think they fry everything in olive oil, including waffle fries, and the result is this flavor that is unlike anything I've tried at the mass-market scale.
Anyone else ever try this place, or know their story? I don't think they're American-based. It seems like they've had a lot of success in East Asia.
