Please delete if this is inappropriate for the forum. I can't seem to find a rule that covers.

Anyone in the Greater Texas area who likes to enter cook-offs
The Texas Stampede (which is a organization that raises money for Children's Medical center in Dallas) has a BBQ cook-off in October.
It is IBCA sanctioned. Held in Gilley's parking lot October 21 and 22. Would love to meet some fellow roadfood junkies.

TxConnie. thanks for looking for a rule. I cannot find anything that prohibits your post. It is not commercial and looks inviting. I only wish I could attend.

Thanks for your post and interest. I am looking forward to your post regarding the BBQ.

Do you know if sampling will be allowed? I've been to the contest in Memphis, and had more samples than I could eat, but a couple of years ago, went to a contest in McKinney, and they said they couldn't give out samples due to health codes. Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink.

I know your post was more about people that wanted to enter the competition, but I'm inept at cooking, but not at eating.

We can't do samples due to Dallas Health code. Everyone would have to get a health permit. BUT-- we will have concessions (including BBQ), activities, celebrity chefs, and great music. Come on down and join us!
