BBQ Jazz

Alto Saxophonist Bobby Watson has created a jazz work to honor Gates BBQ in his hometown of Kansas City.  The Gates BBQ Suite is a seven part work. Read about it here at NPR: http://www.npr.org/blogs/ablogsupreme/2010/09/12/129820151/bobby-watson-reflecting-on-jazz-and-bbq&sc=nl&cc=jn-20100919

Very nice.  I wonder if Gates will be selling the CD at the counter, ala Starbuck's.  That's a great story about the origin of the "One Minute Too Late" movement of the piece.  Very funny!
