The food looks ok- a little better than average. Of course, pictures often don't do their subjects justice! The porn part? Maybe I'm too old, been married too long, or whatever, but I'm sorry- I just don't get it! BTW- are the pictures ones of food you've Q'd? I'm assuming that they came from retail BBQ joints because of your statement saying they're from places, as opposed to one place- your backyard. If they're not from your backyard- I'd encourage you to try making BBQ yourself, if you don't already make your own BBQ! I'm sure you could do just as good, if not better, and for a fraction of what it would cost you to buy from a BBQ joint! I recognize pork spareribs, brisket, and sausage. Anything else?

I'm not sure of wanting to dive into the monitor to eat that to tell you the truth... (but, HEY.. I am only one person, and you asked for opinions!) One pic looks like a rare piece of prime rib to me.. I love rare prime, but just what is that supposed to be> Nothing telling us what it is..I see sausage. and a rib..and some kinda of beef.. What is so outstanding about these pics? Sorry... DID you take them? Is it your food? Your restaurant. How bout a little background? Give us some more info.. Thanks.. Those pics really arent that appealing to me... Just what is the defintion of food porn anyway? http://foodporn.com/

Yes, I want to take the dive. That prime rib is luscious. That's Kreuz, right? That is porn because I am objectifying it, looking at it with my unblinking gaze. In person, though, that's a love affair, encompassing all my senses. But love it slowly, enjoy it. This isn't Arby's, wham bam no thank you, ma'am. This is the ecstasy promised to all living things. It's beauty almost makes me wanna cry.

Apparently, I am not getting the pastrami sandwich on my thread-I see none.As far as the rest of it goes, the meat looks excellent!Who really cares where it came from, who really cares if it is food porn......it looks good, we were having fun, and that is what counts....

What porn and eating a whole mess of great "Q" have in common is that you usually need a shower after each!

I'm sure we'd all love to see them..... Frank That's fine- no problem here- you dish it out, and I'll spoon it up- pun intended! As you can see, however, I did add the disclaimer that pictures often do not do justice to the subject, as very well may have been the case here. As far as my Q being the best- Hey, I'd like to think that it is, but I'm sure it's not- although it is pretty darn good! As to the reubens, like I stated earlier, I decided not to do the brisket on the grill/smoker, as my back was not up to it! My step-daughter then forgot to cook it in her slow cooker today before they went out of town, so I guess the plans now are for us to go to their place Monday for reubens. Unfortunately, that meant ordering pizzas for everyone tonight! As to pictures of Q, etc, I may know a little about BBQ, but I'm "technologically challenged" when it comes to computers. I don't have a digital camera, and don't know how to post pictures. Can it even be done w/o a digital "picture-taking" apparatus?

Food porn is an interesting concept in itself. What is it actually? Suggestive pictures of food? Suggestive writing about food? Does it have any connection with sexuality at all? Who defines this stuff? Government usually defines porn and it does vary greatly from decade to decade, administration to administration. We have seen this when high officials were embarrassed by nude statues in Washington and demanded to the tune of "Chattanooga choo-choo" Sir your statue needs a tutu. This person saw porn when he knew it, when others for centuries saw art. It is a complex concept and probably beyond the confines of these forums. People are endlessly different and see what they want to see. I reckon that is the scary part of it all. Then again, perhaps we are not talking about sexuality at all. Perhaps food itself is becoming obscene. Government our constant friend, is endlessly telling us what is and is not obscene regarding food. Perhaps it can be summed up in an old Louis Armstrong song, "All that meat and no potatoes."
