JUST WANT TO TELL ALL YOU BBQ LOVERS OF GREAT PLACE WE JUST DISCOVERED. THE NAME IS BEAR CREEK BBQ AND IS LOCATED ON RT. 5 IN THE TOWN OF CALLOWAY IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND.

AS SOON AS YOU WALK IN THE DOOR YOU SEEE THE HUGE OPEN PIT SMOKING AWAY WITH AT LEAST TWO HUNDRED POUNDS OF MEAT. WE BOTH HAD THE PULLED PORK SANDWICH AND WAS GREAT.

THE OWNER AND COOK IS QUITE A HUNTER AND THE LARGE DINING ROOM IS VERY RUSTIC WITH MANY MOUNTS ON DISPLAY.

ITS WORTH WORTH A TRIP IF YOU ARE NEAR, CHECK IT OUT !!!

Big Jim, welcome aboard RF.com. This is a great site w/ some terrific folks and information. Can't wait until my next trip up to the DC area. Am always willing to make a detour for some Real Good que. Sounds like you found one and I hope to not be far behind.

I just looked on 2 atlases and couldn't find the town of Callahan, but did find RT 5. I'd love to see this place sometime. How far south of DC is it?
