I would like to recommend visits to Bridges in Shelby, The Skylight Inn in Anor (that is wrong but close), Stamey's in Greensboro, Lex#1 or BBQ Center (my family's fav) in Lexington or RO's in Gastonia over anything Jim Early is involved w/...his book Tar Heel Barbecue is disgraceful. Wrong directions, wishy washy recs and outright wrong statements.

V960 ...You and I agree on just about everything here. Except when I hit Ro's I get a hamburger with their slaw. Haven't tried their BBQ. Does it rank with the others you mentioned?

Looks like Jim Early and N.C. BBQ got a nice plug in USA Today.

Really enjoyed reading the N.C. BBQ trail article in my USA TODAY, today. I hope everyone got to read it as well. If not, go to your local news stand or wherever they sell newspapers in your area and try and get today's issue. (6/8/07)
                It's worth seeking out.

If you don't have Friday's issue, here is the trail info link.
