BK Sliders.....? Mon, 02/16/09 9:47 PM (permalink)
Being the Whopper lover (*GASP*)

, that I am..... After seeing the commercial for the new BK sliders, I opted to purchase a 2 pack.. price here in Merritt Island is $1.39 for the 2........
So, here is the mini's next to their big brother for size comparison..
They come with ketchup, mustard and pickle....
Eh..... tastes like a BK burger......
Nuttin' special except the rip off price--a little chewy piece of meat, IMHO.... but then again, even the little Krystal slider burgers are up to .60 cent a piece anymore......

No.. I dont do cheese on my burgers, in case someone was wondering.....

I have told my story around hear... about combining two 99c Whoppers (yes, no cheese) onto one bun, and feeding the extra bun to the birds in the parking lot. Hey, the birds thought I had a great idea! And for 2 bucks it was not a bad burger. That has been awhile though.

Roossy, those do not even look worth combining. Poor birds. :~(

BK sold sliders 25 years ago (in Miami Springs, anyway), and then dropped them from the menu.  I guess they felt a compulsion to bring them back.

I made the mistake of trying them last week and wished I hadn't.You can get two whopper jrs and a order of fries for two dollars and some change.I paid four dollars and thirty nine cents for the BK Slider combo and it was not very good.

I went out and tried them as a result of this thread. (I go to BK a few times a week anyway) As has been mentioned, they are nothing special, but may be a way to charge just a little more per calorie. I will not be getting them again. Most customers that I see, now get the $1 Whopper Jr (tm), and I ever the cheapskate, use coupons or get the $1 burger.

A problem in a lot of enterprises now a days is , "How to get more folks to pay the full price". BK has upsized "small" drinks to the old "medium", at the medium price, so now if you order "small", they get to sell you a "medium". FYI the old "Small" is now the "Value" size.

We went to stop at a highway BK yesterday during the trip back to my daughter's college. It was closed. It was open a few weeks ago.

I made a thread on this earlier, but I'm glad to see a better report on the thing than my limited means.  Not that shocking to see them cheaper and with mustard outside of NYC (which charges 10-15 cents more for the 2 pack), but seeing the "chewy" bit was a bit of a surprise.  It's not a bad premise, and I like a BK burger's flavor, but I have to wonder if their slightly thicker patty with its preparation will make its days on the permanent menu short-lived.

Now, that's a Whopper next to the minis, right?  Or is that the standard hamburger?  I'd like to line up the standard burger to the minis to compare the value, which, I suspect, would only show much better off your money is going with the regular old hamburger, or the Whopper Jr.

bk sold these things in the 80's, they called them 'burger buddies' back then. exactly the same product, i guess they held onto the molds for the buns and patties......

Believe it or not, Krystals are 69¢ without cheese here in their hometown! (99¢ with cheese. Yikes!)

that would be the regular whopper.. I guess, the grandfather, rather than the big brother of the sliders...I rarely get a regular burger, so that was the only thing I had to compare to it.........

Hold your ALT key then type 0162 on your numerical pad to get the cents symbol.
