BK's Big King

What happened to this sammich? It was what what a Big Mac should have been. More meat, less bun, add a tomato and it was very good. BK ran with their tail between their legs it seems. It was in Canada,  and is still sold in Europe, but why did they give up on it? 

A pre-emptive shoosh...The Stacker is not the same.

    might the angus burgers they've been offering be the substitute for the king burger?  those things are pretty darn hefty!

    The suits at these FF companies don't care what tastes good or what (within reason) is healthy. They want to meet their bogey so that they can earn more money. Its all about the money.

    I avoid the national chains like the plague these days, they're cutting back like everyone else and their quality wasn't that great before tough economic times like we're experiencing now. Search out your locally owned restaurants, more than likely you'll get a better product and more bang for your buck. I know it's true here in Rockford.

    I thought that particular burger was pretty good.  The BK Angus burgers are horrible.

    JMGSearch out your locally owned restaurants, more than likely you'll get a better product and more bang for your buck. I know it's true here in Rockford.


    I can't get a burger locally for less than six bucks (usually 1/3 pound, with no sides or drink), so while they are better burgers my budget says BK or McD's is the way to go if it's a burger I want.

    The BK Stacker isn't the same, but it does contain that absolutely addictive sauce.   When the angus burgers first came out they were pretty good, but the last time I got one I think it must have been angus cat rather than beef...I dunno what that was exactly but it was really bad.

    Only $6? Around here the indie restaurants are pushing $8-9 for a burger and at one of them, the fries are and extra $3.95!

    The two independents I'm talking about in Rockford, the most expensive burger on the menu, fresh Char-Broiled Double Cheese Burger...$3.79. Large French Fries...$1.85. Cheese Fries...$2.55. And they're really good burgers. The other independent is a little cheaper still. One things for sure, they wouldn't be pushing any $8-9 burgers around here, they'd be out of business.

    Six bucks if I'm out of downtown...anywhere within the city limits you can't find a burger for less than $8-$9, add at least a buck for cheese, add $2.50 for fries.

    Like I said, they're better burgers, but not THAT much better.  They are still, after all, burgers.  I'd rather pay that much for a real dinner.
