I find it funny they blur out the condom in the video. They can talk about it, but heaven forbid we see what one looks like! How silly.

I find it sad. We're backsliding into the Victorian Age once again. Many thanks religious right wacko nutjobs.

A condom really isn't an appropriate thing to see, especially if it was stuck in a fast food burger. I'm glad they blurred it out. I feel bad for the man that this happened to. Ick. --Jessica

The only reason I wish you could see it is it's absolutely unclear if it was still rolled up or not. If it was, then he has way the hell over-reacted by getting tested for disease. No, I would not want to find a condom in my burger. But I would also not immediately file a lawsuit, either.

My God, man! Are you un-American? I'm neither un-American nor a man. Perhaps you did not realize that I was actually making a point about the current American practice of declaring, "I'll sue you", at the drop of a hat. While I didn't know your gender, I certainly did not think that you were un-American, and in reality, I was actually siding with your position!

"As for Hartless, he said he'll be more cautious when he eats fast food." maybe it's me, but is this guy a glutten for punishment? That experience would end any chance of me going to a Burger King, and maybe even fast food. He'll "be more cautious?" How does one be more cautious when eating fast food? I thought that eating fast food was throwing caution into the wind. What exactly does he mean? Is he going to check all of his food for condoms from now on?

In this report from the Rutland Herald, there is mention of some disagreement between a BK employee and the customer over the availability of jalapenos at BK: http://www.rutlandherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071207/NEWS04/712070385/1002/NEWS01&loc=interstitialskip The fact of the matter is if you did find something in your food today, placed by a disgruntled employee, many restaurant owners will blow you off. In this case, Carroll's Corp released a statement to USA Today indicating they investigated and believe none of their employees placed it in the food. Hardly an unbiased investigation. Besides, the kids working there probably know where the dead spots in security camera coverage are. If one is really outraged enough and wants justice, the only way to do it today is to start a lawsuit. Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing if the condom was already in the "weeds" used to dress a Whopper, if a kid working there put it in, or if the complaint by the customer is bogus. A lawsuit may get some other worker to squeal, especially if there was a reward involved.

A lawsuit may get some other worker to squeal, especially if there was a reward involved. The shame of the matter in these situations is that while none of us know the truth...the restaurant's name has already been dragged thru the mud. To a place like burgerking, it probably won't matter much, but what if this story was about a Mom and Pop place. Sure they would deserve the trouble if they were guilty, but if the story proves to be a hoax, it will probably be a page 10 instead of page 1 news story, and the business may have been irreparably harmed by the hoax. The same happens when people are charged with crimes, and dragged away in handcuffs before the rolling cameras. A local doctor was accused or raping a patient, and his office and picture were on the front page of every paper. When it came out the accuser had done the same thing to others and was really an extortionist, the story wasn't as big. And years later, people still referred to the guy as that "guy who raped someone". Innocent until proven guilty seems to be something of the past I guess.
