BTUH of natural gas versus LP....

I'm trying to calculate how long I can expect to run on particular LP tank sizes in my mobile kitchen. I know that Propane is a hotter burning fuel. I think it contains 2,500 Btu per cubic foot versus Natural Gas at around 1012 Btu per cubic foot. Does this mean that a 40lb Nat Gas commercial fryer (also available as an LP unit) that is demand rated at 100,000btuh of Nat Gas will require less than half of that if you order the LP version?

There are 96,000btu's in a gallon of propane. Nat Gas is roughly 10-15% more efficient (Natural Gas burns hotter).

Two 30 lb tanks here, run a steam table, 36" grill, hot water tank and cook pot. I normally use around 40 lbs a week. I turn the gas on around 9am and light up the trailer, then turn it all off around 5pm, do this 6 days a week. Mike
