The Whopper was good at one point when the burger was hot, the cheese semi melted and the lettuce, tomato and onions were cool and crispy.

You mean like they used to make them in the 60's when the meat was grabbed as it slid out of the flame broiler and the fixin's were slpped on and wrapped in front of your eyes. I remember thats how yhey used to make the "Super Chef" at Burger Chef

I remember a grilled cheese sandwich at the local BK that I ate almost every day during high school in the early 70s. It saved me from the cafeteria slop, and assorted lowlifes. We had an open campus, and could wander off school property during lunch. It was just a burger roll turned inside out with american cheese melted between. But it was cheap, and enough for me.

I remember in the 60's and early 70's our local Burger Kings in Grand Rapids, MI not offering any mustard on any sandwiches. Since the whopper didn't use it they didn't even have it in the place. Hamburgers came with ketchup and pickel and onion was added on request. McDonalds and Burger Chef both had mustard back then. Am I alone here or can someone else verify my memory of this?

I remember when my brother took me to a BK for the first time in the 70's. Were the Whoppers really as big as I remember them or is my memory going?

My last BK memory is unwrapping a whopper and being overcome by the smell of nuked lettuce. I haven't been back.
