We've noticed a bunch of them in and around the Kansas City area when we visit. Never been, but we know some folks who have tried their food and said it was okay. Of course, BYB is competing against the hometown favorite, Winstead's. Kinda tough to get folks too enthused about some out-of-state chain when Winstead's has been the standard for about the last seventy years or more. Buddy

We visited the Louisville chapter. It was over priced and the Burgers were nothing special. They did have a good Blackberry Cobbler side dish. We won't bother going back.

Nothin' special, at least in my opinion. I ate at several different BYB's in Memphis over the course of 15 months employment in the area, and not once was my hamburger piping hot. It's a nice, thick burger, but the taste isn't anything remarkable (I'd compare it to a Whataburger) and, as I said, mine were always served at a lukewarm temperature. The fries, also, are unremarkable.

Oh well Twin, Dallas always has Joe Willy's and Kellers. I only make it to the big city about once a month, and then usually for dinner at tha familys. Shoot, I'm hungry for a good burger! Joe

The ones down here used to be really good... but then they switched to Pepsi. We haven't been back since.

I don't think that is such a lame excuse. I, too, don't patronize restaurants that serve Pepsi and not Coke.

While I will drink just about anything, my better half drinks Coke. That was enough to keep him from going back. And, since I don't drive and the nearest location is over 10 miles away, that kinda lets me out of the loop too.

I, for one, did not consider that a "lame" excuse for not going there any longer. If the place does not serve the beverage of choice, why would you continue to go there?

I LOVE BYB. Burgers are thick and juicy, always served piping hot to me. Choice of Waffle Fries or Seasoned fries (I prefer the Waffle Fries) and I LOVE the fact they serve Pepsi products. I drink diet pepsi or diet coke but from the fountain I cannot STAND diet coke so I love places that serve Pepsi. Their cobblers are good, you can get a small dish of ice cream for right around 1.00. At least here in Independence Mo it's that way. Just my .02

I enjoy "BYB". I like their Flame Broiled taste and the seasoned fries are quite tasty. I prefer a WELL SEASONED Burger, and BYB doesn't disappoint with their "BlackJack Burger." I usually order mine as a Double, they use 1/3 lb Patties. The BlackJack has Cajun Seasonings with a spicy Mayo topping as well as PepperJack cheese, lettuce, onion and tomato are standard. My S.O. orders the Grilled Chicken and has always enjoyed it as well. I have visited two different locations, Marion IL & Mitchell IN. Both are clean and have fast service and I stop there often when travelling through those areas on hiking trips.

Depends on the one you go to. I go to one occasionally in Marietta, GA, and they have been good and consistent over the years, but another location varies as to the comments above. It's the management that determines the quality.

We got a BYB here probably a little over a year ago. I enjoy the burgers and the chili cheese dogs i had were decent as well. When my supervisor from work went he didn't enjoy it . So to each his own I suppose.

The product reminds me of the Burger King and Hardees of years past.

I prefer RC Cola. If I only went to restaurants that serve RC, my choices would be greatly limited. There's a BYB the next town over from me, I may give them a try one of these days, but it may be a while, since the BYB is on the way to Taco John's, and I love me some Taco John's.

Today, we stopped at a Back Yard Burger because it was handy to the location of a Doctor's appointment Janet had scheduled. Her Grilled-Chicken Salad was ok, although the Chicken was a bit dry. My Burger was OK, but I will pitch the same gripe here as I did earlier on the MOE'S SouthWest Grill Thread... These guys are pricing the sandwich out of reason for what you get... $7.83 for a Double Burger (no Cheese or Bacon) with lukewarm Waffle-cut fries (small side) and a small drink... You pour your own. We are not likely to be long-term customers for either place. In this caseYou REALLY Don't Get What You Pay For !

There used to be on on Loop1604 and US HWY 281 in Northeast San Antonio, but I guess it's gone as the location isn't listed on their website. They have a Culver's here, but it's way on the otherside of town.I usually make my own or go to Wendy's or Jack In The Box. Once in a while I go to Red Robin,or to Chester's a local San Antonio chain.I love Chester's poppy seed buns.

Holly, I'd lump the Red Robin into the group I am describing in the post above yours. Over-priced bigtime, for what you get. I'll add a gripe about the blaring music at Red Robin. It is impossible to carry on a conversation at normal levels in the place. That may be fine for nites in a bar, but not lunch with a friend. I'd trade ALL 3, Backyard Burger, Moes, and Red Robin for one Jack in the Box that puts out a steady stream of the greasy little Tacos that are OUTSTANDING !!

Kaileen--just ignore his comments. It is not lame at all, especially when there are other issues besides the drink selections (the not driving). Please do not go away because of his rudeness--there are a lot of really great people here.
