I have been advised that the restaurant will close July 15th as the current manager does not have the fortitude to continue.

I have agreed in principle to sell the property.

Anyone interested in owning a BBQ and Rib joint in the mountains of Tennessee with all of the equipment?

Near the Nolichucky River, Asheville, the Appalachian Trail, GREAT LOCATION.

I wish I had the knowledge to operate such a thing but my smoking ability is not very good. It is hard work and you gotta know how to do it to make any money and it involves long hours. The operation seems romantic but in reality, it involves long hard work.

Paul, maybe you and I should team up. I have the energy for the long hours, and the f&b experience, and we both are familiar with sanitation issues. I'd bet Mr. Hays would be willing to give us some pointers...and I know a few guys around here who might be willing to help critique the grand opening.

Poverty, I wish this was a few years ago but it ain't. I am retired now and I do not wish to work seven days a week. What mr. pig developed is super. The place is beautiful and is the shadow of the mountains and right on the river. His menu was super and his technique was special. I cannot duplicate what he did and I do not have the energy to continue.

Somehow I think you might. I think your should investigate but not me.

Blues and BBQ will work in Erwin but never Brews. Tight knit town with a history of not allowing new beer licenses to be issued. This is a serious proposal, the place will be for sale and for a song of a price. I know Mr. Pig very, very, well. Don't I Sundancer?

It has a $17K Old Hickory Pits all stainless smoker that has a capacity of 600 pounds every 24 hours. Bet you can get it for about 225,000 lock, stock, barrel and I'll toss in the recipes, methods, and a no compete clause for a 350 mile radius. It does not get better than this.

How long has this BBQ been around? I was in Erwin back in 1992 to vist the Polypipe pipe extrusion plant and from what i remember there wasn't a whole lotta options for vittles, or maybe I didn't know where to go..

I just put a call in to a local who might be interested. Let's see what happens.

Around here if you cant get a beer license, some places jump over the local goverment and go after a Resort License from the state... (And ya, it does upset the locals when ya step on their toes)... Just a thought to investigate in your state...

BAckwoods opened January the 31st of 2004. Unfortunately the couple that owned it had to part so the business has to be sold. That is why it is at such a great price.

There is an apartment attached to the restaurant also with all appliances including dishwasher, washer/dryer, full kitchen with stove, cabinets , etc.

A restaurant and a place to live for one low price.

10 foot by 10 foot walk in cooler built inside the kitchen. Natural gas fired equipment. Better hurry on this one.

We here at Roadfood have a bit of a vested interest in following the saga of this establishment. That said, I would appreciate if posting about it was kept in the informational mode as opposed to the "direct sales pitch" of the previous post. If you are considering getting involved seriously with this business please conduct your buy-sell communications via email or other modes.
We will be interested in the final outcome of these events.
