It really is not far from a sausage ... seemingly fattier ...
I've had good half and half burgers (half sausage, half burger, not bacon/burger) ... I recall a really good one (w/ chau chau) at Betty Pearle's in Greenville, SC.

Hahaha - love the bacon patty!
The little town I grew up in (Solon, IA) every summer has a street fair and they serve up pork burgers. The patty is 100% ground pork, seved up hamburger style. They are awesome.

I am trying to imagine what it tastes like....Did you see where someone suggested placing a few slices of bacon on top of the bacon burger...
It definitely needs cheese and mayo to balance out the fat content.

If you were grinding your own burger, you could grind in, say, 10% (20%?) bacon into your burger for pre-baconed patties.
Could be an interesting selling point and unique menu item. Raise some buzz.
