I love the way bacon smells when it's cooking. After it's done I can take it or leave it -- mostly leave it.

My partner is vegetarian but always has to have a small portion of my bacon if I order it in a restaurant. We only have the Morningstar Farms tofu bacon at home.

Michael Hoffman I love the way bacon smells when it's cooking. After it's done I can take it or leave it -- mostly leave it. I agree with Michael. I use to be a huge fan of bacon but over the last few years, it has become less desirable to me. Why? I do not know. I know the the crumbles get in my teeth and I always have to floss directly afterwards. When I do prepare bacon, I now tend to put it in the over where it seems to cook better for me, less mess and it does take longer. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Tofu bacon? Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Well I guess tofu isn't exact, but it is made with soy. We just bought some soy kielbasa this morning, there are a ton of soy based fake meats.

When I have it, I also cook my bacon in the oven now... I keep the strips whole, and it doesn't seem to shrink up as much, and lays flatter. I don't, and never eally have, eaten a whole lot of it or very frequently (probably less than once a month), so it's still a nice treat when I do. The only vegetarian that I know that came back to "the dark side", it was buffalo wings that did him in.

Phil Mickelson has changed his diet to include meat again. I bet it was the bacon! LOL David O.

Bacon, Bacon, Bacon - bring it on. I love bacon. Every Sunday morning I make breakfast and I fry up 2 packs of bacon. We eat one pack (4 people eating) and I save the other pack to eat during the week (a bacon and mayo sandwich, pancakes and bacon w/syrup on the bacon of course, etc.). You can never have two much bacon.

I had to spend a few days in the hospital recently and was served turkey bacon one morning, which led me to conclude that turkey bacon kind of defeats the whole purpose of bacon.

Ummmmm, yeah. Bacon is pork (ONLY) not turkey, chicken or any other meat that they try to misname. Bacon is smoked pork bellies, not compressed meat injected with "flavor." JMHO David O.
