Bad early experiences

I would love to hear some bad or funny early experiences from other vendors. I am mentoring a guy now for some free help and cash and it takes me back to some of my early bad experiences. I have many lol, because I am the KING of bad location ideas!! My first day out-legal and so ready! It went dumb-- too long to set up-- buns not steaming right, the usual stuff, etc... SO, It took me a little longer to break down, and I was running late to get home. (my wife had to get to work and I had to watch the baby) She was calling and pissed off, I was frantic and nervous but got it all hooked up and packed up and I was on my way. There was a lot of traffic, I heard some kinda bad noise and looked in my rear-view too see a long line of trash behind me. HMMM. I pulled to the far right lane and stopped. Just stopped right in traffic in rush hour with lots of cars going by me at about 75mph. I looked and saw that the side trash can I had failed to "remove from the cart before traveling" had come loose and gotten wedged under the cart so I got on my knees(in rush hour) to unwedge it, couldnt get it, stood back up quick(the cars were starting to honk and I heard some bad bad things yelled at me). Ok so as I stood up I hit my head HARD on the shelf of my new diamod plated reinforced titatnium alloy steel cart. I was feeling kinda dizzy in traffic there but thankfully stumbled away from of the 75mph lane instead of fainting right there into it. I heard my phone ringing so I knew it was the wife again and boy was I late now! Yep it was. Yelling i was dizzy, I was even bleeding from the knock. She was so mad and so apatheic about my bleeding dash. Boy did that suck. I hope none of you newbies dont have days like this, but you will. Sorry, you just will. If you quit then, fine. Cart operation/hot dog busineess is not for you. I didn't quit and I still do it. Most days arent like that and after awhile you get a good system down that works for you. This weekend I sold over 1000 dogs, brats, and polish. Personally, I think I actually made about 30 of them. This work is good-don't quit it after a few bad experiences. I hope someone found this entertaining. I am a little brain dead from no sleep(I got Red Bull for sale!!), and all this work. I wanna hear some bad experiences from some of you guys. It's all funny with time.

I found that VERY entertaining and a bit sad. But i do know what you mean. Not all that long ago (and not as bad as your experience i guess) I was running a bit late leaving one morn. and my cell phone rang and i answered it and it was a friend and we start chatting, meanwhile i have a few last minute things to load in the truck and i did something i NEVER do, until then. I put my money box and book of all my days reciepts on the truck above where my marine battery sits well, i never took it off of there, drove off and at one point i heard a noise i never heard but didn't think alot about it. Well, get to my spot, set up and go to get my money, well THERE IS NO MONEY!!! It was gone. I had my dad retrace my tracks and we never did get that money box back. Thank G i had gone to the bank the day before or that could have been REALLY bad. Needless to say, i don't take calls until i am totally there and set up. But i LOVE LOVE LOVE my job and i LOVE my new spot. There since the end of November and things are "really" looking up

I worked in a very busy dinner house, The manager did the same thing. She put the bank bag on top of the car and drove away. She called panicked. It was monday AM and had the entire weekends receipts! From lunch monday to dinner sunday. Back in the 70's there was a lot less credit card which only made the finder happier! It had to have been 10-15K. Poor girl barely made that in a year! The manager stayed on. britt

OMG, that is sooo sad. I know that sinking feeling but i had far less money in my box. The sad part for me was that my mom had used that box about 30yrs ago when she had a truck and the card she gave me when i started was in the box to bring me luck.
