Banana Twinkies--gone forever?

I haven't seen banana Twinkies anymore. I hate to admit it, but I actually liked them. I keep looking for them but I haven't seen them in years.

I called asking for the Strawberry ones, and they too were only for a very short period. Never even saw them at all around here. Really disappointed. I would imagine they would have been like the old Drake's "Shortcakes" (which came in both flavors), and I really missed those.
So I treated myself to a box of Little Debbie Banana Twins (which you don't see as much as you used to around here) instead.

I also like the Banana Flips (folded over sponge cake w/banana flav. cream). Yummy!

I also enjoy banana twinkies. I found them about a month ago at a family dollar store.
I own a small vending business and have Hostess delivery once a week. Our salesman told me that they are dropping many of there lines of products that we grew up on and changing to some new products. Banana Twinikies are gone, same with ding dongs and who knows what else is going next.

    THEY'RE BACK!!!

Finaly caught it, and immediately grabbed a box.
Alright, but I think the banana creme taste goes better with the Dolly Banana Flip and the Little Debbie Banana Twins than with the Twinkie.
Now if only the Strawberry would come back!

I had a Banana Twinkie today (twin pack from convenience store $1.29) Pretty good flavor but extremely sweet .. at least they weren't like the horrid stawberry ones that tasted like poison

Hmmm.. Ding Dongs.. haven't had them in years. Say it's not so.. (I know I'm almost a year late in replying to this post, but still..) Another sad moment in Americas culinary (junk food) history...

Not everywhere. I never eat snacks like these, except for a rare occasion on a road trip. But if I ran across a banana moon pie in NY, I might indulge. Thankfully, I've never seen one in NYC.

You are in luck! I recently heard on the radio that in Honor of some anniversary, Hostess is bringing back Banana Twinkies! Hopefully they will be out on the shelves soon...I'm eager to try one!

I saw them on the shelves here in NW Florida 2 weeks ago...
was interested in giving them a try, since they were $2.50 a box compared
to the regular version, but then had flashbacks of the time I got a box
of low-fat Twinkies, which didn't taste too well

    SURPRISE OFFLADY!

Banana was the original flavor of Hostess Twinkies and During World War II, when there was a banana shortage, the filling flavor changed to vanilla. Banana Twinkies are back with this King Kong Edition, give 'em a try.

    Here's a link to purchase.....

They seem kinda pricey, but hey if you like them that much....

I bought a box for the same 2/$5 price at my local grocery. They tasted pretty good and I really liked that you get 10 individually wrapped Twinkies instead of five 2-packs. I'm worthless and weak and MUST eat both from the opened 2-pack, but have no trouble only eating one individually wrapped Twinkie

    Thanks,

    Kevin

And I have no problem either, especially for a nice 3AM snack!

The Banana Twinkies were cheaper than the regulars, which were $3 a box
along with all the other Hostess products, including Zingers.

Now if they could bring back the baseball cards, circa 1975-79...

I too have seen the Banana Twinkies, but only in the twin packs and not in the boxes yet. For the person who said Ding Dongs were discontinued I have to say that I just saw them by the boxes at Wal-mart just a couple of days ago so it must only be in your area that they are discontinued. Sorry for your bad luck because they are delicious.

I was just at our local Walmart

They had "NEW" Banana Twinkies in a box for the same price as the regular twinkies.

I bought a box, my son sniffed it and said YUCK.... that means more for me
