Bar-b-que in the Portland, Oregon area

Did a search for group bar-b-que cooking, including associations, events, clubs, groups, contests. Came up zero. There was no information about such events in the Northwest. Does anyone out there belong to a BBQ group here in the Portland area? Does anyone have information here locally? There are a number of sites in the South and East. Was inspired after reading 'Desertdog' review from his BBQ in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Think it would be a great way to meet friends, eat incredible food and learn new skills. Thank you for your help!
