Baseball Trivia Fri, 05/8/09 6:19 PM (permalink)
I heard an amazing baseball fact today.  I wonder if any of the forum's baseball experts know the answer.

What do the Mets, Cubs, and Yankees have in common?

There is only one "right" answer, and I am the sole umpire for the decision.

Lance Johnson (outfielder and triples king) played for each club consecutively between 1996 and 2000.

    New York Mets 1996-1997
    Chicago Cubs 1997-1999
    New York Yankees 2000

They have all won a World Series title since 1910.

        Ooops.

TTM - This could just be coincidence ...

Since moving to their new ballparks, the Mets, Cubs, and Yankees have not won the World Series.

          Close enough, you win.

            Cute.  I'll take it.

Of course, the same could be said for the Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, Colorado Rockies.....etc....etc....

            Still...it's funny!

Pittsburgh Pirates... They're a laughingstock now, but the Pirates won World Series in 3 different stadia.

And my Brewers too.  But that was true in the previous ballpark, too.
