Important update; It looks like Pechsiam has once again gotten out of the Bay Corn business! However, their page mentioning Whole Bay Corn, and that it makes a supurbed addition to salads, stir-frys, stews, and coctails, can still be viewed at alibaba.com if you google... pechsiam "bay corn". Shoot, Pechsiam is my favorite brand of canned Bay Corn. I had better stock up! Hmm, how long will canned Bay Corn last? I like the canned better than the jared. The ears are much bigger than what comes in most jars. That means the Roadfood forum is back in the #1 Google spot w/ 284 mentions if you do the "More results from roadfood.com" option. And NMNM's 2006 thread "Bay Corn Revisied", is the thread that shows up on the Google. This may change after this post? There is also a link to on the 1st Google page to NYNM's thread "Bay Corn for New Years" with the prediction, from a reputable source, that Bay Corn will be BIG in 2007. Boy was that dead on! Oh, and Bay Corn, if you use the quotion marks, is still holding strong in the Google game w/ "about 8,760 results" . Not using the quotes will bring up all threads about regular corn. The quotes will let you research only "Bay Corn" and the many fine recipes posted on the net. Someone here at the forum once said that my posts are full of "balogna" but I have searched and searched and can not find even a single post, except my mention of this statement, that mentiones anything at all about balogna. ???*&^$# Now... back to work on my Grilled Bay Corn Mexican Elote recipe. Happy Summer 2010 all!!! :~) Joe

Y'all can have your Yankee Bay Corn. We are picking up 3 Bushels of Silver Queen Supersweet Corn this evening, that our neighbor is picking in the field as I type. We will also stop at another orchard nearby on our way home from the Corn-Patch for a Bushel of Fresh-from-the-Tree Peaches. Total investment less than $50, Expected return "Priceless" !!!

Wow, lucky you Al! Now you have made me hungry for corn. All I have are some frozen half ears that come from the grocery. I sure miss fresh young corn on the cob. Hmm, why do you say Yankee Al ??? Joe

PapaJoe, my problem with Bay Corn is getting the skewers in the ends so I can eat those suckers while they are still hot, the skewers tend to meet up, any suggestions?

Use smaller skewers: You might have to make your own. A couple of cut-down old-fashioned hat pins or corsage pins might work. Look at the potential for a whole new industry at a time like this when people are out of work!

Papa, it's a regional specialty thing.. Wandering Jew started it when he said something about not liking some little Baseball club from New York...he called them YANKEE'S and I just picked up on that. Don't know if the meaning extends beyond the city limits up there ???

Mamaw Smith and I picked about two bushels of peaches and cream corn out of our small garden. It took about a hour to pick it, about a hour to shuck it and about two hours to strip the kernals from the cob. It probably cost us much more to do this than buying it at Walmart but the sweat equity put value in the process. We got about 10 quarts of corn and it is in the freezer along with about the smame amount of okra which we are picking about every four days. It ain't bay corn but it is super sweet. I ate some raw with a little salt which it needed because it is so sweet. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Al, thanks for clearing that up. I have head of that baseball club from some threads here about NY style hot dogs. Although... I still don't have a clue what "Yankee" or "YANKEE'S" has to do w/ Bay Corn. ?*&^%#@ Chewer, 6star is on the right track. I have some pins at home that have a head that looks like this kinda "~!~". Not sure what they are used for but they have them at Wall Mart. They work just right w/ one stuck in each end of an ear of Bay Corn. I also use these pins for for filling my e-cig carts. They work great w/ the Highping Plug Mod on a XL m401 cart. The are also just the right size for the larger Reese canned Bay Corn. Although, my serving methoid of choice is to just offer wooded tooth picks, the colored ones, for spearing them. You just spear, and then pop tha whole ear in your mouth, and then... enjoy! Paul, wow does that sound great! The sweeter tha better IMHO. Now to search my local produce stands for some Cream Corn. Oh, my MawMaw liked her corn just budding out on the cob. It was so sweet and good like that. Joe
