Bay Corn, the new food craze maybe started here?!

If you do a google for "bay corn" (use the " " s) roadfood.com comes up first of 1,080 hits. Lots of new recipes for bay corn are apearng almost daily. Ahhh, the joys of Bay Corn!

Oh I forgot to give NYNM full credit for introducing all of us here at roadfood to Bay Corn.

Two very popular forms of Bay Corn are Old Bay Corn and Chesapeake Bay Corn. Both are used in many great recipes. Many chowder recpes call for Chesapeake Bay Corn. Aged Bay Corn, also known as Old Bay Corn, is highly prized for its unique flavor.

Also, Bay Corn Chips are a new introduction to the Bay Corn craze.

Bay (baby) corn is what you get at salad buffet tables at family restaurants. I can't get too excited about them. They are usually gone right after the 4 PM bus arrives.

Now, now, bay corn afficianados. Ya'll know bay corn is esoterica!

I am going to make all things green on St Paddy's day this year.

Breakfast

green potato pancakes
green eggs

Lunch

Irish Spaghetti (green spaghetti, white cheese and orange sauce)

Dinner

Corn Beef with green cabbage
Green smashed potatos
green Bay Corn


All washed down with some green tea

CK, try it w/ Salsa Verde sauce... Green Chile Bay Corn. You can also add it to Green Chile Stew.

NYNM, that Bay Corned Beef and Cabbage sounds great for St. Paddy's Day!

I am still looking for that spicy peanut sauce recipe so I can make the spicy peanut Bay Corn. I need something new for a new years eve party.

Ah hell, so i went and googled it as instructed, ...and found Roadfood is already bounced out of the # 1 spot by a commercial version that's available!  Hope NYNM is thinking of buying a yacht with the royalties he'll get from the sales (or is that sails?)

I am tired of waiting for a spicy oriental peanut butter sauce recipe. It's CRUNCH time for my NYE recipe! I am working on a Texas style peanut sauce. Pickled jalapeno juice, peanut butter and??? Hey, maybe thats all it needs? Except for the Bay Corn of coarse.

Well, what I did was in my Google Bar, I typed "Bay Corn" with the little ".  Something else came up first, but Roadfood was in 2nd place. May change if there's lots of posting on here about it.

Thanks Fried One!!! My theory is that Pechsiam.com is a paying Google site... and that is why they are 1st. Oh... and the first time I saw your name reminded me of the old days at Hooters. They sold fried oysters but they were $100 each. Anyone else remember that?

I think that "baby corn" manufacturer got to numero uno on Google because of a typo. Five "baby" mentions and one "bay" mention that looks like it was a mistake. And to think people pay big bucks to experts to help them get to number one on Google.

Some new things on the Bay Corn front;

Bay Corn fed beef and lamb

Bay Popping corn (shhh, this is kinda a secret)

with whatever else you want to put after the " "s and see what you can find. New things are always popping up. :~)

I understand under the new handout stimulus plan, bay corn farmers will get 10 cents for every ear of bay corn used in a pork project product

Didn't know that Fried one. Trouble is, sadly... that there are very few Bay Corn producers in the US.

And... I stand corrected. I said above that Bay Popping Corn was new... but I see that NYNM made Green Bay Pop Corn way back on St. Paddy's Day 2008. What an innovator he is! NMYM, rumors are circulating around the food industry that someone is planing a BIG move into the Green Bay Popcorn Business.

Late news flash;
It appears that Pechsiam has gotten out of the Bay Corn business. They are no longer first on a Google "bay Corn" search. They once were, as pointed out by the Fried one, earlier on this page.  I could not find them at all. Perhaps someone told them about the mention of them on this site. Loose lips DO sink ships! :~)

Looks like Pechsiam is back on top of the now 10,300 Google hits for "Bay Corn". It could be that they payed some $$$ to be #1? Roadfood is still holding a solid #2 spot though!
