Beef Jerky Recipies? Tue, 07/5/05 5:54 PM (permalink)
I've only found a handfull of sites that have beef jerky recipes that make sense - anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Are you cooking the jerky in a low temp oven or smoker?

Its been awhile since I used it but if I recall correctly the dehydrater came with a recipe that while not fantastic was a great starting point

I usually pick out a pretty lean looking roast, such as a "butt roast," and ask the meat cutter to slice it for jerky. Then I get a bottle of teriyaki sauce marinade, or teriyaki with jalapeno pepper.

Just dip each slice in the sauce, and put in the dehydrator. No need to marinate ahead of time since it will be in there for several hours. Take them out when they are dry but still flexible.
