Beef-O's as they're referred to down here started in the Tampa area back in the early 90's. They are all over the place in central and sw Florida (not sure about the Miami area) and are mostly franchised. Most are pretty consistent and are set up on a sports bar concept w/ a strong family orientation. As a result, they are often crowded w/ little leaguers and their parents after practice and games. They make excellent wings, a very good burger plus curly fires, onion rings, and several very creative sandwiches. In particular QFan likes their grilled on rye roast beef sandwich called the Watterson and their chicken philly hoagie. Overall, you will probably enjoy them if you get to one. Very informal and pretty easy on the pocketbook. QFAn Bonita Springs, FL

Ice cold beer and decent sandwiches. Lots of TV's. Great for an apres-golf meal. Typical sports bar chain. Depends on the local management, though, as in all chains. I've been in two Beef O'Brady's which weren't up to par.

One recently opened in our area so the wife and I tried them out. I ordered fish and chips. When the waitress brought out the food she set it down and asked...How's it look? - I said..like Mrs. Pauls. Wife ordered one of their specialty sandwiches and left a bit over half uneaten. nuff said about the food at this particular location.

It only took one trip for me to decide never to go again. Life is too short for such mediocrity. I would rather eat at Red Lobster. pb

We had a Beef O'Brady's here in Huntsville, AL, but it didn't last long. I too thought the food was below par. I certainly don't object to eating at franchie restaurants as I am a big fan of Outback (the coconut shripm is of course, my favorite and I also like to eat at Red Lobster but this place had to go.

The one in Glen Ellyn, IL was awful. It closed after 6 or 7 months. I doubt that it was representative of the entire chain.

We now have a Beef o'Brady's in a little strip mall about 8 miles from here. I don't think the marketing folks who select locations for the chain did their homework, as this is in a pretty rural area that is seeing some, but not major, development. Maybe they know something that I don't know about who else will be knocking down trees to pave parking areas there??? We tried the place once and I was not impressed!

There is one near here that located near a large sports complex that hosts up to 40 soccer games at a time. I think it's a kids/sports team magnet.
