ok-- has anyone tried 'beer can chicken' ? there's a special rack which you put a half can of beer on and set a chicken on top of the beer.. stuff a tater in the other opening of the chicken and cook.. takes about 1-2 hours on a grill but well worth the wait.. man oh man.. we had them last night and they were a definite repeater in this house... YUMMMMMM even the taters tasted good.. with a little butter salt and some sour cream.. yummmmmmm

Been cooking them for several years now. I bought 8 of those racks and am now serving BCC in my restaurant every other Friday.

Yes I've done a few on my grill. I use a dry rub on my chicken, put some fresh garlic in the beer can and it comes out real nice. Cook it for about 1 1/2 hours. The first time I did one on my grill I didn't think about using a drip pan to catch all the grease. When the chicken was done I removed it, turned off the gas and had a great meal. The next time I went to use my grill I turned on the heat to high to preheat the grill. I walked into the house to get something and came back out to a huge grease fire in my grill. I then remember what I did or rather didn't do. Call myself a dumb a** opened the lid and let it burn out. Now I use a drip pan.

" Don't need no stinkin' racks" just stick a half full beer can in the large opening and set it on the grill. I like Mc Kormick's Rotissrie Chicken seasoning as a rub. Best chicken yet.

I live in an apartment and cannot have a grill but have made this in my oven several times. I just move the oven rack as low as possible and prop the chicken up on the can in a roasting pan. Like halfday I use a dry rub and put some spices in the beer. Moist, flavorful meat with crispy skin. MMMMMM!!!!

My family likes BCC so much that I usually have to do 2 @ a time. One for dinner and the other for leftovers. This from people that don't do leftovers, or so they tell me

I have found that a couple of sprigs of Rosemary and a generous coating of Paul Prudholmes Blackened Redfish Seasoning produce an extremely edible yard-bird.
