"Thick Bermuda onion slice," which you often have to "pack" yourself since many kitchen and wait staff can't comprehend the term.

It is a very simple game. When I am in New Mexico it is a green chili cheeseburger. When I am at home in Maryland, it is again a cheeseburger and I do not care what kind of cheese. It could be anything from american to brie. I love cheese on my burgers. The necessary items should be, for me, grilled onions and mayonaise. I do not understand the desire to have lettuce and tomato on the burger; I would rather have a salad and eat it with my burger. BB

whats in the fridge? Bluecheese dressing thousand island dressing jalapeno relish miriclewhip and A1 A1 and horseradish sauce olive relish salsa ro-tel bacon fresh sliced tomato and/or onion pulled pork baked beans I am as far from a catsup hater as they come, considering it more a staple than a condiment and occasionally a freshly grilled burger with a slice of melted cheese on a kaiser bun with ketchup is just what my taste buds are calling for

While I do like ketchup (on the side, though) with a (cheese) burger, I do like them with lettuce, tomato, and mayo or miracle whip. One of my favorite ways to enjoy a burger is simply to top it with crumbled bleu cheese during the last little bit of grilling. This is also known as a "black and bleu, or blue" burger. Also, If I'm not putting it on a bun, I like it with A-1 steak sauce. That is the only reason that I buy A-1 steak sauce- never for steaks! I insist on mustard on a hot dog- absolutely no ketchup, please, but cannot stand mustard on a hamburger.

I like A1 Sauce or Worcestershire sauce and lots of grilled onions. A little sweet teriyaki sauce can be really good with a slice of pineapple.

Depends on whether I want a bun or not. Without a bun like i had last night it would be swiss and american cheese only. With a bun(grilled or toasted),cheese(swiss and american, or cheddar) lettuce, tomato, mayo, onion, pickle.

quote:Originally posted by Sera BI don't know if it's true or not but I've heard that my grandpa used to put peanutbutter on his hamburgers (eewwww) I will spread some peanut butter on top after I flip it over and scrape it off after all's cooked. I especially like the kind of cheese that bites you back on the way down, and some mustard that's not that yellow abomination from French's. Lettuce and onions are also keen, I also prefer a couple slices of tomato and cucumber instead of ketchup and pickles. I detest pickles, but can stomach ketchup if I must, even if it was Reagan's favorite vegetable. One thing I do on picnics is seed and chop one cucumber and tomato about 1/4 inch dice, mix it with JUST enough olive oil and vinegar (equal mix) to hold it together, then spice it up and call it relish. I can't explain why I use vinegar when I detest pickles, but I do. It goes in a peanut butter jar when finished, and one year, I may even plant the mater and cuke seeds, too.

Always: Ketchup, mustard, Del Monte pickle relish (made with sugar instead of HFCS). I always garlic salt and pepper patties before cooking. Sometimes: Melted extra sharp cheddar, raw or grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, canned green chiles, 1000 Island. Never: Unmelted cheese, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, butter, A1 or any steak sauce straight from the bottle.

Hello All, I hate ketchup and never have it on any food. I love hamburgers and have tried a few things. Thousand Island dressing, bleu cheese dressing, and even Ranch. They didn't work with my tastebuds. Horseradish sauce, bbq-sauces, pizza sauce. Only the pizza sauce was semi-interesting. I have given up..I really just like tomato, mustard, mayo and lettuce, and at times, sauerkraut. Take Care, Fieldthistle

grilled 'shrooms, grilled onions, 1000 Island dressing- sometimes swiss cheese, or even blue cheese- no mustard, that seems to be a "Texas" thing- and no jalepenos! my other half just wants mayo, tomato and onions- NO Pickles!

Hamburger made with salt, pepper, red pepper and Worchestershire. On it: Good ole' American Cheese, Raw Onion and Tomato diced, Mustard, Mayo and Green Pepper sliced. Blue Cheese suggested above sounds great-I'll give it a try!
