I tried looking for Heinz pickle chips in local supermarket chains for the last two days. They all dropped Heinz in favor of Mt. Olive, Vlasic, house brand, etc. Maybe they need a better sales dept?

Now that you mention it, I don't believe I've ever seen Heinz pickles in the grocery store, and I live about a 20-minute drive from the plant. I could be wrong, of course, but I honestly can't remember seeing them even in the local grocery stores.

I would be willing to bet that the layoffs have absolutely nothing to do with people who don't like pickles on their burgers.

Well if McDonalds actually did remove one pickle slice from its burgers, as someone posted above, then I could see layoffs. Think of how many hamburgers Mcds sells  in a day and how many pickles are used. Cut pickle usage in half and you have a large drop in pickle sales.

True.  But that is a completely different issue from people who order their burgers with no pickles.

I prefer the Whooper JR, but rarely stop at Burger King due to their fries that basically taste like grease, rolled around in sawdust.   For me, the McDouble without cheese is the better buy.  McD's fries are borderline mediocre, but far superior to BK's.

I cast my vote for the small size chili from Wendys.
