The head dude from Zagat's was on the Today Show yesterday.  I was surprised at some of the results.  I wonder how the poll was taken.

No doubt the way all Zagat ratings are done:  Anyone who cares to can sign in and vote.

Every few years they send me some forms in the mail, and tell me that if I will rate local restaurants they will send me the latest Zagat guide.  One does not have to have actually eaten at a restaurant to rate it.

Amen to that, but I do like their salad and rolls.

Wouldn't go there just for that.

They think IHOP has good coffee?  Ha!  My mother likes their food, so we bring instant coffee in with us to add to their drink all you want brewed coffee.

    Olive Garden... feh.

AGREED !!  I cannot believe all the crowded parking lots of Olive Gardens...
this is one issue my SIS and I disagree on , as she really likes the place, (the  Tour of Italy platter)
(although we both don't care for the breadsticks that much)

The salad dressing is way too sweet, and the croutons taste like they're right out of a package...
the chicken cutlet parm is NOT hand breaded taste...

    spaghetti soggy...

The one dish I like is their chicken scampi ...
(during those times when I was dragged in there, kicking and screaming, lol )

I'm surprised people talk so much about Five Guys and Graffiti Burger gets no mention. I like the burgers better and I think the fries are WAY better. If you go online and look at their photos, each location is painted inside with graffiti of the local community, like the local high school mascots, logos, school colors, etc. And of course Ohio State references. Don't know who does them but the whole interior is painted in this fashion and done extremely well.

** Correction - after review it appears Graffiti Burger may only be in the Cols, OH area which would explain it. Too bad others can't try them. Maybe they will expand

Wendys is better than most. Though Culvers here is the top as far as fast food goes.

I have to disagree on Wendy's.  When they first opened, they were excellent- a hot, juicy, meaty, greasy burger that had something about it that put it far above McDonalds and Burger King.  Now it's like a salted hockey puck.  The last time I had one I took two bites and tossed it.

Red Robin is pretty darn good, although I'm not sure it counts as fast food.  A bit pricy for a burger.

I love their onion rings though.

My votes:  Best fast-food burger is, hands down, Culvers.  Best fast-food chicken is either Famous Recipe or Popeye's.  Best root beer at a fast-food place used to be Dog and Suds (but are there any of these left?).

Yea Red Robin is really good.  Culvers was ordinary when I last went, but that was over 5 years ago.

    Just my opinion-
Red Robin makes one of the worst burgers out there.  Their fries are bad, and the onion rings are big and frozen.  Consistently the worst service (not rude, just bad) around.

I find Red Robin to be fairly good but way overpriced for what you get.  You're paying for a glitzy, suburban uber-teen hang-out.   Five Guys is good in terms of their burgers, but again a little overpriced and I don't care for their fries (the peanuts are a nice touch, though).  I've had Culver's on several occasions, but would only classify them as alightly above average in terms of burger quality.  Not bad, but as IntelligenT82 said, rather ordinary.

Fully agree with Saps - Red Robin is as about as bad as it gets for burgers & fries.  No wonder they offer all the fries you can eat.  About one is enough.

If this list is up to date the Robinson location would be closest to you, but if the crawl on the homepage is correct there's supposedly a location in Charleston.

The one in Loves Park is probably 45 minutes from my house but I don't think I've ever been there.  Maybe it's time to change that...

I agree that Chick Fil A has the best grilled chicken. Most consumers may not realize that Chick Fil A has healthier options than a fried chicken sandwhich with french fries and a Coke. Their salads and wraps are good as well.
I believe that Chick Fil A has the best quality food for your money. It may not be the cheapest selection on the road, but it sure is the tastiest.

I completely agree. I would still go there until recently because I happened to like their fries better than McDonalds (spicy chicken sandwich is not that bad), but then they changed the fries to that "natural cut" abomination, inedible in my opinion, so I won't go there anymore. I used to work around the corner from their corporate office in Dublin, OH, and the store they had on that corner had great food. BK used to have pretty good fries too, but they changed them also. Silly. 2 burgers 2 fries 2 bucks!
