I just found out the Snows retired! So now my second favorite meat market is now my number one favorite. Bichelmeyer's at 7th and Cheyenne, Kansas City , Ks. They make some killer sausages as well as having all parts of beasts available. Sad about the Snows, but I hope they enjoy taking it easy.

Over in Orlando, see if there is a Fresh Market there. I get my steaks from the location in Clearwater and really enjoy the quality.

Now my favorite meat market is on the web.

They have the best Delmonico steak I ever had.
I'm sure if you call or email them you can get anything you want and cut the way you like it.

San Diego has Iowa Meat Farms. I've been going to them for 25 years. Just look for the life size fiberglass cow in the parking lot. http://www.iowameatfarms.com/3.html

"Iowa Meat Farms"??? Is that where the best meat in Iowa is shipped, or merely an indication that we've got great meat? I'm happy other parts of the country get our great stuff, but we are really lucky that beef and pork of fine quality can be found in most all stores in central Iowa! By merely asking, butcher's in any of the "supermarkets" will cut meat to order.

In DC I like to go to the butcher's at Eastern Market. Great cuts, make great steaks.

In Knoxville, TN the ONLY old-fashioned, authentic meat market left in town in Lay's Market on East Jackson avenue. They can give you any special cut of beef or pork that you want; they also have whole pigs during BBQ season! Want a 2" choice porterhouse that will melt in your mouth? Go to Lays. Been in business since 1907 and still owned and operated by the Lay family.

In Seattle, there are two at Pike's Market. Both are verrrry good. I tend to prefer the one just downstairs n the Sanitary Market building. They feature great aged steaks.

I'm bumping this thread hoping that I'll get some more responses. We are in south central Nebraksa and could really use any opinions, and we are headed towards Flagstaff AZ later this fall.

If you can head over to Le Mars, Iowa there's a great market called Fairway. Their meat is spectacular, not pre-packaged, you pick what you want out of the case and if it's too thin or two thick the butchers will be happy to cut whatever you want. I brought porterhouse steaks and Iowa pork chops all the way back to our winter place in California with me.......a real treat!
