Best breakfast in Montego Bay, Jamaica

The Native continues to be my favorite restaurant in Montego Bay for breakfast.  It has a beautiful view on the hip strip but more importantly their breakfast has both good quality American and Jamaican style breakfast.  Anyone who has been to Jamaica knows that many places that serve an American breakfast aren't very good and they also don't serve as much coffee as many Americans are accustomed to.  This place serves and excellent American breakfast and plenty of coffee.  Of course their Jamaican breakfast is excellent too.  I highly recommend it.

Lol, I hear you there.  Used to be like that back in my college days when I went down there.  Nowadays I try not to miss much of the mornings.

Never been a big fan of Ackee and saltfish but my wife who is Jamaican always gets it when we're down there.  Thus far we've found nowhere that imports ackee to Michigan.

All of the pastries are amazing down there.  One of the good influences the British brought to the island.  Lunch time it's time for a patty!

we lived in Belmont District,Bluefields Bay for a year.my friend Jah-B LOVED American style breakfast and he would supply us with firewood{among other things! :)} to get them! Then at other meals he would teach me Jamaican recipes---I miss that little outdoor kitchen and cooking over a wood fire with 3 stones to balance my pots!!!! and the LOBTERS!!!!!---for BREAKFAST!!!!!

Nice!  My wife's family is from Mc Field and Haddo near the border of Westmoreland and Hanover.  Her mother is a cook for a farm out near there and cooks the most amazing curried goat, ox tail, brown stew pork, rice & peas, fish & bammy, etc...  Been awhile since we've been down there.  All this talk about Jamaica has me looking at air fare prices lol.

I'm with you! Who gets up for breakfast in Mobay? By the time we're up, it's off to the Pork Pit for jerk chicken or ribs and that wonderful festival bread.
