We had a chain of steakhouses in the 70s and 80s called Ninos.Very good food. There is but one left, in Sheboygan. We stop there if in the area, but dont find the 90 minute drive worth it anymore with so many steak places close to home.

    Ha!!!!!

Twenty five cent pitchers of beer and all the (soggy) steamed shrimp you could eat in the (then) friendly confines of Beltway Plaza mall in Greenbelt, Md.

Are they still around? I still remember their jingle from my time in NY in the late '70's to early '80's "Beer, wine or Sangria, all free, absolutely free, with your dinner at Beefsteak Charlie's tonight."

It seems they only exist in our memories and in collectables on ebay

In Maryland (or at least PG County) they could not give away booze so the pitchers were a quarter. There was a bar called The Back Room in College Park (sound geezer alarm) and every Wednesday night they had New Year's Eve with unlimited glasses of champagne for a penny at midnight. Lot's of hijinkx back then

Ninos reached as far as Rockford as well...Google makes it appear that it was still in business as recently as 2002.

Several years ago while in Columbus, Ohio, we discovered the Hyde Park Grill (in Worthington). We went back again the next night--steaks were some of the best we'd ever tasted, and the sides and desserts were their equal. They have branches all over Ohio and recently opened in Pittsburgh. Wish they'd come to NJ.

                Ahhh, CheapSteak Barlie's...

When I was young, poor, and single, the "gang" used to go there for the All-you-can-eat shrimp, the All-you-can-eat salad, the All-you-can-eat ribs and All-you-can-drink beer/wine/sangria all for $10.95.

I think we put them out of business.
