I have looked at them on line a couple of times, I see them in use at bbq competitions. If I didn’t all ready have so much stuff I would purchase one. It looks like they maintain a constant heat and hold in the moisture with very little work

Personally, after seeing some of the results here on Roadfood, I would probably go with a Traeger pellet grill. Have a look at the post by, "John A" under "BBQ" titled, "Threw a few ribs on the grill" Yummo! www.traegerindustries.com.

My BGE is the most versatile grill I've ever used. You can use it as a regular grill, but it really excels at things like whole chickens, turkeys, briskets, etc.

Depending on the size, they run from about $350 to $900 for the egg itself, then there are lots of accessories such as pizza stones and poultry holders.

I've never used one, but did see one in one of my customers yards! I've heard nothing but good things about these grills and see one in my future! (Sorry Weber, I love you, but there's time you have to move forward)..

My son has one; I bought it for him at a going- out -of -business sale for $400 with a few small accessories - it is the biggest they make. It came with spindly insubstantial looking legs, but also included plans for a table to mount it in. You can cook three pork shoulders, or a big turkey, or 3 or 4 briskets all at once on it . And a handful of charcoal lasts all day at BBQ temperatures. It can also be cranked up to about 600 degrees to do a steak. They are great. There is a web site for GBE owners you might want to look into. Cheers, John

I bought my husband a BGE out of desperation...it was his birthday and I didn't know what else to get him. He wasn't that thrilled at first (hates to have money spent on himself) but he likes to cook and grill and my brother, who never spends money on ANYTHING popped for a BGE years ago and loves it. I bought the large size...they come bigger, but that was a much as I was willing to spend $495. It will do up to a 15# roast or turkey, and I figured that was big enough for the 2 of us. We use the recommended hardwood charcoal and various kinds of wood chips, and I must say, everything he's made has been fabulous. We cooked a turkey which was growing old in the freezer(from last T'giving), and it was marvelous. He's roasted prime rib, pork tenderloin, pork butt (smoked and slow roasted for 14 hours...beyond wonderful.) Had I known how wonderful it would be, I might have popped for the next larger. I found it online using Shopzilla and got it for $495, free shipping. We used a Viking natural gas grill for outside grilling, but anything that can be smoked or roasted goes in the egg. I would highly recommend them. The only downside I've found is that the local BGE retailer (didn't know there was one at the time) is accross the street from where my husband gets his hair cut, and so he comes often with new accoutrements, racks and such. The egg comes with a CD and DVD telling you how to operate it. I'd highly recommend watching this first.
