Hi, my name is Debbie and we also had a big Top in Waterbury..they did have the best cheeseburgers but also the best ribs don't know what that other guy was talking about. They were called an Adams basket with duck sauce and thy were very different. I used o get them every Monday night up till ten years ago. Wishing could out how they made them lol.

    Hi Debbie. Welcome to Roadfood. I might be the other guy you're talking about. I said I thought their ribs were terrible. The ones I had at the Big Top Shoppe in New Haven back in the '60s were supposed to be barbequed ribs, and they were anything but. They were ribs that had been boiled and then put on a grill and smeared with a sweet sauce.

      Sounds like Montgomery Inn in Cincinnati got their rib recipe from Big Top

        No, no! Believe it or not, the ribs from the Montgomery Inn are magnificent, compared to the ones I had at the Big Top Shoppe.

          Then Grilled?  Check
          Then topped with sweet sauce?  Check
