Both in Gulfport: Montana's www.montanas.com and a good Mexican that we ate at several times was Toucan's.......not far from Montana's. Of course when you go down to the beach area there are several good seafood places on the Gulf between Biloxi and Gulfport.

yes much good seafood chappey's and steve's marina in long beach but for regional fare [not that seafood isn't] try the blowfly inn north of gulfport, out on bayou bernard quite the experience, it IS where the locals eat or try aunt jennies catfish in ocean springs it is just a couple of minutes across the inlet of biloxi bay all these places were recommended by locals and we thoroughly enjoyed all but keep in mind, while not roadfood the casinoes would be an option also

Second the Blowfly Inn, but Aunt Jennie's is GREAT!!! And while you're in Ocean Springs, stop at the Tato Nut shop for donuts. Eat one for me while you're there. If you don't mind paying a bit, then Mary Mahoney's in Biloxi is good food in a great atmosphere (downtown near Beau Rivage and the Isle of Capri). For good Mexican food, Cuco's (up near Treasure Island...at there a lot, it was next to my hotel). Or if you want the best Po'Boys you can find in the area, head over to D’Iberville to New Orleans Style Po Boys. You know, I didn't eat anywhere in either Biloxi or Gulfport that wasn't fabulous, including the casinos (where you can get ungodly amounts of seafood for not very much money if that's what you're wanting).

We've always enjoyed the White Caps. Good seafood and a professional wait staff. Been eating there for years on trips south. Too bad you won't be down when the excursion boat to Ship Island is running. A beautiful barrier island 12 miles off the coast run by the National Park Service. First went there as a boy of five. Went back 47 years later and things hadn't changed a bit. But don't miss the Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs.

The Blow Fly Inn is great--fried shrimp, whole flounders, beautiful desserts though we were too full to try them. A great Roadfood experience.
