On Black Friday, I usually take a day trip to shop in a small town, instead of going "big box" shopping. This year, Midway, KY was the choice.
Looking on-line for a restaurant that was open for lunch close by, and had a bar {a prerequisite}, I found the Woodford Inn in Versailles, KY.
The restaurant is called "Cleveland's"
The Bar:
I ordered shrimp & grits with a side of greens. In the first pic, the shrimp & grits had french fried onions on top.
Catfish, hush puppies & greens:

We decided to take the scenic drive {Rt. 68} to Harrodsburg to the Beaumont Inn for drinks & appetizers, but when we got there, the bar wasn't open, and it was between lunch & dinner, so all we got to do was check out the gift shop.

The Beaumont Inn & Old Owl Tavern:
We ended up having chips & salsa & cocktails at a Mexican restaurant in Harrodsburg. [|)]
Our last stop was in Lexington for dinner {& drinks

}. At this point is was dark & it was desperately bathroom time, so parking close to the establishment was mandatory. We were in downtown proper. Cheapside Bar & Grill fit the bill.
When I saw their menu, I was a little suspicious. It seemed like pseudo Mexican bar food. But I was pleasantly surprised by my entree.
Salad:
Grilled chicken breast with a roasted red pepper sauce & jack cheese, served over Mexican rice, with veggies & corn sticks with cinnamon butter. This was much better than I expected {except the carrots

}
It ended up being a beautiful day. We got some unique Christmas gifts, saw some beautiful scenery, and had some good food. Much better than a mall!
