Blue Berry Pie

This involves several thoughts:
1: I was in Bar Harbour, ME and Had the blue berry ice cream and it was outta sight. It was down town and I had two servings.
2: I was baking a blue berry pie and was using the blue berry out of the can and when I was tasting the remaining part of the can, I put my finger in the can and mixed it with ice cream, it was wonderful.
3: I bought another can of WalMart blueberry pie filler to mix with ice cream and forgot about the pie;.
Real Tasty and I am leaving for a trip to Maine for a bird watching trip in a few days an I am gonna do some more blueberry ice cream and blue berry pie things.

Paul, as you may know, I'm leaving for my Cape Cod/Maine honeymoon on August 18. Let me know where I should go for great blueberry ice cream and wonderful blueberry pie.

My daughter in law is a self proclaimed expert on blueberry pies and she would be the first one to say that the best blueberry pies in the world can be found at Helen's in Machias, Maine and at Harraseeket Lunch in Freeport, Maine. Helen's is a great place for breakfast with homemade bread toasted and a piece of blueberry pie to top it off. At Harraseeket Lunch, there should be a party of two with one ordering the lobster and the other person ordering the fried clams........both people must order blueberry pie or it will end up in a brawl as to who has the last bite!

Cheesewit: Downtown Bar Harbour on the corner is a great ice cream joint that sells homemade blue berry ice cream. You cannot miss it cause downtown is only about four blocks long. Ice cream is super.
They advertise it highly.

Paul, I'm in Bar Harbor Fri. 8/22 to Monday morn. 8/25. I will definitely get the ice cream there. I'll be thanking you as I enjoy their product!

One of my favorite blueberry pies ever is at Mabel's, in Kennebunkport. Don't know if you're headed to that part of Maine, though.
