Blue Corn Popcorn

Hangin' out here in Santa Fe, NM this month, I just remembered a local snck I enjoy (Blue Corn Popcorn). You can buy the kernels, which are dark blue, or ones already popped, which I like. I don't know if they really taste all that different, but they have a "clean, fresh" feel. Very white, with a dark blackish-not golden brownish-center. Good snack food!

Recently bought both red and black popcorn in Indiana. They both tasted a little different than regular popcorn, although it may not have anything to do with the color.

Pib: That's interesting! They make a big deal out of "blue corn" here, since it's an "authentic" Native American food. Blue Corn pancakes are very popular (they come out a grey-ish color) and spas offer "blue corn meal facials"...now are these things true of these other colored corn?

Not that I know of. I was passing trough northern Indiana and the store was listed in my older edition of Roodfood. I never made it that corner of the state, but the review said they did mail order. So I went to the web and ordered some. That way I could check the place off in my book (which has become an obsession).
