It sure sounds familiar. When I read your post, I thought, "Yes, I remember that!" However, I was wrong once before, so I checked their website. It's not a listed flavor, so if they did have that, they don't anymore.

Although I still think I saw it in the stores at one time, I didn't try it. I'm not a huge fan of German Chocolate anything, although that was one of my father's favorites!

Banana Split, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Covered Cherries, THOSE are my families favorite Blue Bell flavors. Although I don't eat sweets I always try one bite each time I buy a new flavor for them. My favorite was the Key Lime Pie, REAL graham cracker crust!

Does anyone know if you can get it dry iced to the west coast. I NEED ice cream to love to taste the Bluebell brand. Not ready to retire yet to the south where it seems to be plentiful. All of you are making me hungry. I don't want to have to get out my ice cream freezer and make some.

I listen to talk radio and the BlueBell commercial comes on about 300 times a day.....and its so annoying that i dont buy thier ice cream. I prefer Dove bars myself, or banana popsicles, or a large Pina Colada!

Alas, Blue Bell is not yet available in your area. It appears that is IS sold in Memphis and a little further east of there, so you might want to take a Roadtrip over one of these weekends.

If you just can't wait, you can order from the company, but it's expensive! http://www.bluebell.com/icecream_order.htm

I imagine it won't be too long before it gets to Nashville.

(Psst, by the way, no matter what everyone else says, the BEST flavor is Natural Vanilla Bean. )

Bushie: Thanks for the tip I'll make sure the Vanilla is one of the four choices I make -- it does go with EVERYTHING.

RedPatti: The thing that is great about that flavor is that is really DOES taste like the "homemade vanilla" we used to make at home when I was a kid. Blue Bell has a flavor called Homemade Vanilla, but it tastes NOTHING like homemade vanilla. Go figure.

Another thing I like about the flavor is that it doesn't have any colors or fillers added. It's just ice cream as it should be.

Oh, since you have to order at least 4, I would also highly recommend the Cookies n' Cream. BB was the first to make that, and I still think they do it better than anyone else.

two choices down and 2 to go. We won't be home to receive the shipment since they have certain days they don't ship. So I have to wait until the end of next week to order. Major bummer. But that will give me time to eat some of the Albacore in the freezer from our last fishing trip. Tuna sandwiches anyone?

Bushie: How does Blue Bell compare with Mayfields??? I have never had Blue Bells but Mayfields in Athens Tennessee is very good.

They have a museum in Athens which was reviewed by the Mayor earlier.

I cannot claim they are better but they are very good. You opinion requested.

Thanks

Sundance, Blue Bell and Mayfield's are just about the same quality. Blue Bell has more flavors, but if you take a quart of plain Vanilla (which to me is the comparison standard), they would be similar. In fact, I think Mayfield's might even be a touch better.

As far as I know, however, Mayfield's doesn't have a "natural vanilla bean" flavor, so I'm gonna have to throw my vote toward Blue Bell.

As you know, we Texans (including us non-native "naturalized" ones) ALWAYS think we're better. So, of course, BB is my pick.

Another Moo-lineum Crunch fan here. It's an addictive substance. It even replaced my Cookies and Cream addiction.

My wife likes the Homemade Vanilla better than the Natural Vanilla Bean (& there's a good chance it'll be topping some hot peach cobbler or a warm from the oven brownie so i can't argue with her).

frognot, you're right, Moo-llennium Crunch is awesome.

Have y'all tried the Country Vanilla? It's just a little bit yummier than Homemade Vanilla to my taste. I love the fresh natural taste of the Natural Vanilla Bean, but that's just my preference.

As with most food, it's all subjective.

Please report back with your thoughts.

And, all this talk about hot peach cobbler and warm brownies is driving me wild!

Hi. I am a collector of Blue Bell Ice Cream memorabilia and I'm looking for an (empty) container and lid for 2 flavors: Mississippi Mud Pie and Tennessee Toffee Crunch. I live in Texas and thus can't find these flavors over here. Can anyone possibly help me out by mailing me an empty carton? I'll gladly pay all costs. Thanks!

By the way, Blue Bell recently opened a distribution facility just a few miles from here. All the major groceries in the Nashville areas appear to be carrying it now...
