Andrew Knowlton, an editor at Bon Appetit, came to Austin and sampled Franklin Barbecue, the wildly popular East Austin barbecue house a couple months ago.
The new issue of the magazine has declared that Franklin is the best in the United States.
Local and national media picked up the story with results ranging from the prospect of Knowlton being drygulched out near Abilene

We've always been real serious about our brisket out in these parts but I've never seen this level of excitement about barbecue.
