Hey, Anybody tried one of the bonefish Grill restaurants. I know they're a chain, but one opened here in Brick NJ and it's superb...quite a few notches up in quality. If The Red Lobster is an old Chevy, Bonefish grill is a new Cadilac!!! Give one a try leethebard

I have been there and done that. Their fish is very good if you correct the right kind of sauce. My opinion is that they are upscale but do not do to seafood which their brother Outback does to steak or what Carabbas does to Italian. Just my sincere opinion Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Seafood: Better than average for a chain. Atmosphere: Crowded, loud, scripted waiters. All in all, felt too much like a PF Changs in that they were trying for upscale by a formula. If you live in a part of the country where there are no other fresh seafood choices nearby, not a bad bet. Otherwise, you can do as well or better for a lot less. [|)][|)] QFan Bonita Springs, FL

I went to Bonefish Grill here in Las Vegas (actually in Henderson, NV). Rating = B to B- to C+. It was good; not excellent; better than average. To me, living in Las Vegas, a place has to practically be next to a shoreline to even get into the A range.

my wife and i ate at Bone fish for the first time sunday. I had the lily's chicken and thought it was excellent the sides were corn and awesome au gratin potatoes!! my wife had the ahi tuna with the pan-asian sauce we both were impressed we would def go back but!!... your right on the money with the scripted wait staff that ALMOST ruined it for us. The guy who sat us then one waiter then another waiter with a trainee who thought it was her table went through the exact same "schpeal"!!! I have worked for a chain before so i am used to it but my wife and i were almost cracking up by the end of the third person running us through the menu telling us the same thing including which one was their favorite!! Did they all have the same favorite? Just curious to see if they were all pushing the same thing.

I ate at the Bonefish in Knoxville on Kingston Pike when they first opened. We haven't gone back. I don't think I ordered the right sauce because I remember it as just being "ok" and the sauce not being what I was expecting. I will say that the service was excellent. I remember our waitress as being friendly but not overly so. I'd go back with a smile if someone else eas footing the bill!

Considering the fact that bonefish is just about inedible (because, as the name might suggest, too many bones), why would anyone name a restaurant after something one cannot eat?

Hey, I think a lot of you are being a bit hard on them. We were at Bonefish tonight again. We live on the Jersey shore. Tons of Fresh seafood...my family chooses Bonefish! Great specials tonight. I had swordfish..smoked on their grill with an artichoke topping: SUPERB. My wife and I had A Francis Ford Coppala wine special> Great! Banana's Foster also great. Wattress that was class. It was mt son's birthday(his choice tonight) and they gave him a birthday card and a coupon for next time. The patrons were a higher quality than I'd see in other local seafood places..and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. This one thrives in a seacoast town with lots of choices. My wife thought we were treated like royalty with food to match!!! leethebard

Absolutely..................the food is fine at Bonefish but our local seafood restaurants are just as good if not better without that 'pretentious chainfood.......we are your buddy servers atmosphere" I am not the least bit interested in making life long friends with my servers. I just want quality food at a fair price, along with capable servers who know their place.

I just had one of the most expensive, bad meals in my life.My family seems to think chains such as this one( along with Olive Garden)are good.I ordered the rainbow trout, without one of the chains cover sauces, and it was tasteless.Their sauces are good-I tried all of them thanks to my brother-in-law, but take those away from the fish and you have nothing. One of the worst waste of good money in my life...

Did Bonefish when it opened here in Mayberry 18 ish months ago... Overcrowded was the first impression....we were basically sitting at the next table at he same time Cloth napkins???? Let's try a bottle of wine here..... No room for ice buckets for a sav blanc, just prechilled marble sleaves, altho neither it or the wine was prechilled. Then we immediately tasted the cork flavor in the wine - That was explained by noticing that NONE of the on display wine cellar had been stored at a horizontal angle, so ALL the wine prolly tasted of cork??? The mango salsa/chutney was OBVIOUSLY bottled....I mean, it IS a chain, huh? Our impression was a place that is trying the high-end formula on the cheap (cloth napkins) with NO finesse. They DID ask how it was as we were exiting......that letter from the district manager with the gift card helped (the manager was not empowered to do more than take notes?), but I have never wanted to eat or drink wine there again. They DO have a nice bar, tho lol

How did this topic proceed so far without hoffman bitching about moving it to FF and Chains, especially since he posted in it?

After a B+ meal in Fairfax, VA we had a D- clunker in the north Orlando area of Altamonte Springs. Haven't seen a need to go back. That said, I've never had a bad meal at their "big brother" Outback.
