Boston Monthly Meet Up 10/11/12

Spalla’s/Culinary Delights has been proposed for our next meet up.  Spalla’s has Chicago style hot dogs and Chicago beef sandwiches. They also have some awesome Italian Ice.  Culinary Delights is a European style deli with lots of things to choose from.  They are located at 229 N. Main Street Natick. I would like to be sure everybody is OK with this choice before I contact the store.

Another spot close by is the Dudley Chateau in Wayland.  It is located further north off of Route 27 on Dudley Pond.  I called and they are open on Thursdays from 11:30am to 11:30pm.  They're known for their burgers but they also serve pub fare and hot dogs too if anyone wants to compare to the ones in Natick.  Interested????

Bostonhotdogman . . . glad you can join us!  We all have each others cell phone numbers so we can stay in touch in case of a last minute change.  If you want to exchange cell phone numbers, send a PM to one of us.

Paul . . . I only ate a small bowl of soup yesterday and I just got back from the grocery store with a bag of just veggies.  Still stuffed from CT!!!!

I can meet any time after 5:00 on the 11th.  See you next week!!!

I brought a small sausage pizza from Zuppardi.  Mary and I shared it on Sunday night.  I had the last 2 pieces for my Monday lunch.  The Chat has been around a long time.  Basicall just Pub Grub but the burger has always been good.  If you would like to make that our first stop it's fine with me.

I'd love to go to the Chateau and Culinary Delights.  What if we go to the place that closes the earliest first???  I've never been to the Chateau.  Being on the water, if they have a view, maybe going there first makes more sense to take advantage of it??!!!

For those not in the know, Le Chateau de Dudley is hardly a chic bistro; it's a dive. A classic dive, but a dive nonetheless. The name fools a lot of people. The food is solid if you want pub grub, but most people go there for cheap beer- not cuisine.

Paul . . . do you want to call Spalla's and tell her we're coming?  Do we know the order of our visits yet?  I'll call the Chateau and give them a heads up once I know what time to say we might be there and how many.  I'm thinking we have Chris, Amy, Me, Heather, Paul, Dale, Sandra and Rob (boston hotdogman - we exchanged phone numbers so he can reach us if there's a change).  My sons won't be there but I expect we'll see them when we go to Allston for Thai food as Beth has proposed.  We won't see Beth this month either!

Hey, everyone, Sandra can't make it due to a previous commitment, I'm not 100% certain about me yet, I'll know for sure by the end of the weekend.

We will meet at Spalla's/Culinary Delights 508 641-7131 at 6:00pm.  They are located in Natick MA on Rutledge Rd.  Rutledge Rd. is off Rt#27 ( N. Main Street ) just North of Rt# 9.  After filling up on Chicago dogs and beef along with the Culinary Delights offerings we are off to "The Chat". A dubious destination and former "Bucket of Blood".  The current atmosphere is much more genteel and they have a good burger.

    See you all on Thursday
