I'm heading to Bucyrus this afternoon to pick up the winning brats for delivery to Buddy when he's here. I might even stop at G&R Tavern in Waldo for a fried bologna sandwich on the way. UPDATE Three pounds of bratwurst from Carle's in Bucyrus, Ohio are now resting comfortbly in my freezer. One pound stays here.

JRPfeff Any good jello salad recipes out there? Why stop at salad? I think you can find a myriad of ideas right here. Brad

A new product from Vienna Beef? Last year was the Big Wally, is this the Big Buddy? Nope, an offering from a 1960's outdoors cookbook, the Paul Bunyan Frank. Bon Appétit.

One pound of their Grand Champion Brats for Michael. I'll reimburse you next time we cross paths. Jim

Jim, Only problem is, I'll be passing through Hudson after 7:30-8:0pm on Sunday night. I'm guessing RJ's will be long closed by the time we get there. In fact, I'm still not sure how we'll keep those Bucyrus brats cold all the way back to Chicago. Don't worry, we'll figure it out once I get the specifics for that trip from my Ohio distributor. Buddy, I said "if it's not too much trouble." Sounds like it is. No worry, there are numerous other excellent brats available that I can buy. Jim

I will stop by Schmeissers here in Niles- they have a variety of delicious and creative sausages that I will be happy to contribute. I'll see what looks inspiring.

The cherry berry pie is phenomenal, as was the peach butterscotch. That one with the sugar baked into the crust before she puts the filling in is TO DIE FOR.

Remember those chocolate ganache things you made for the Big Pig Gig? And you froze them? ZOMG those were killer. Hmmmmm. I may bring asparagus wrapped with proscuitto. Those can go on the grill?

Anybody interested in some of the HOTTEST, SPICIEST, Hungarian brats that exist? My husband had a deer processed and made into mostly hungarian brats. We get them every year and they are spicy, but not unedible....until this year. One bite and you can't stand it. My husband is someone who orders everything at any restaurant "as spicy as you can possibly make it" and doesn't flinch. He can't even handle these gut bombs. Anybody game for this? I can send on dry ice......

They have excellent sausage, but this batch appears to have been somewhat of a mistake from the amount of HOT seasoning in it.

You may want to search the web for toothpicks made of Kryptonite. I swear these things took the finish off my silverware.

stricken, I've never found anything too hot however it still has to taste good. That leaves Dave's Insanity out of my diet. I make my own Scotch Bonnet/Habanero hot sauce that I eat almost daily but it is delicious. If those brats are hot but bitter or unbalanced in taste, I'll leave them for the Man vs Food dude. I'm not willing to brave a sore afterburn the next day unless I like the taste, ya know.

The brats are a little heavy on paprika as well as plain old hotness. Anybody got his number?
