Labor Day Sunday? And I assume the second "B" in "BYOB" doesn't stand for "Booze" (although I suppose it could be that, too). Really? No pies at all? Buddy

Will there be a Brat throwdown like last year? Maybe some saguaro-roadrunner Brats to shake things up a bit? Do they even have Brats in Arizona?

Hmm. When Buddy shows up here I'll try to remember to give him a few pounds of brats from the Bratwurst Capital of the World, Bucyrus, Ohio, to bring to your challenge.

I will do my part and bring home the bac...er, brats. Michael, I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a bratwurst today. That is to say, I will happily pay you for a couple of pounds of Bucyrus Brats when I see you in August. Firm dates still pending, but sometime in that last week leading up to Labor Day. And yeah, if you've got those Caramel Candy Bars and the Chocolate Raspberry Bars, I guess we don't need any pie... Buddy

JRPfeff We don't need no stinking pie ... Is this to prevent anyone from Pittsburgh showing up? I sure do wish I could be there, but already have plans to be in the South. Have a great time and I look forward to the report!

JRPfeff Bring enough of your favorite brats to feed your party, then trade with others to pick your own best. I'll bring enough precooked Ballpark brats for everyone. Brad

Thank you Michael! Keep them frozen until we meet up. I'll have a cooler and some ice packs ready to go. JRP-If you're serious about that pie on request thing, I had an inspiration about a week ago for a new pie-Bananas Foster Pie! The traditional recipe, seen here, calls for sliced bananas flambeed in butter, brown sugar, banana liqueur, dark rum, and cinnamon. The resulting product is then spooned over vanilla ice cream. Not sure how that would translate into a pie, but if anyone can figure it out, it is The Pie Diva herself. If this is not possible for Brat Fest, maybe for next summer's Smoke Day. Buddy

Buddy, Unfortunately, Bananas Anything Pie is likely to attract a certain unsavory element to the party, if you get my drift. We'll keep this on the DL and I'll make your pitch to the Pie Diva. With this and the Pig's Brain, we are starting to get quite a list of non-pie pies for the menu. jrp

JRPfeff Buddy, Unfortunately, Bananas Anything Pie is likely to attract a certain unsavory element to the party, if you get my drift... Unwashed biker monkeys riding Japanese motorcycles instead of good, upstanding, Wisconsin made Harleys? Um, I'm not sure I do get get your drift JRP. I have been told by my wife, who pays attention to such things, that bananas are not especially favored by The Pie Diva, but I don't quite follow how that relates to the "unsavory element". Is the unsavory element The Pie Diva herself? Does the presence of bananas change her usual endearing self into some kind of vicious Mr. Hyde persona? If that is the case, then I certainly don't want to contribute to that disintegration of character; I can get my bananas, Foster and otherwise, elsewhere. I prefer The Pie Diva in her natural, pleasant state, undisturbed by yellow tropical (and possibly tarantula bearing) fruit. A variety of bars, chocolate, berry, lemon, what have you, will suffice nicely, thank you. Buddy

Cliff is an unwashed biker monkey? It never ceases to amaze me how much you learn about your fellow Roadfooders when you follow these threads on a regular basis. Now that I know, Cliff, next time I'm in Pittsburgh I will be sure bring plenty of bananas. Buddy
