Boar's Head sells a precooked Brat in the deli case. I bought these last week and put them on a charcol grill for a few minutes on all sides and they were delicious. I put a dab of Gulden's Mustard on it along with some chopped raw onion. Highly recommended!!!

I cant remember the last time I bought a big name (mfg) brat. We have so many places in town that make them in house.. Far cheaper and fresher. And Welcome to Roadfood!

I never understoodthe whole brat thing. My former in-laws in Wisconsin would center their picnics around brats. To me, they taste like bologna sausage. When I'd go with them to get brats at the market, I'd always grab a few Italian sausages for myself.
I'm kinda sorry I never enjoyed them much because they seem to be quite popular and there's a big variety available these days almost anywhere.

I like to simmer bratwurst in beer and sliced onions, then grill the brats to brown them up. I serve them on buns with some of the onions and some sinus-clearing horseradish.

I like to go to Milwaukee on a baseball trip, sit in the stands and moan out loud about how good the bratwurst is while half-drunk locals all around me chime in to tell me how these bratwurst are crap and how i should taste the ones from (insert eastern european deli name here) that they grill up at home. Hey, it only happened twice, but it happened both times!

Essvee, you're hanging around the wrong people. We've very proud of our brats, especially brats from Sheboygan on the hard rolls. Usinger's makes a very respectable brat sold in all retail stores. Anyone who says different, thinks a "3.0" is their grade point average, which is probably their BAL (blood alcohol level).
