EatingTheRoad I know everyone has seen this before but the No-Knead recipe is honestly one of the easiest best recipes out there: http://www.nytimes.com/20...08/dining/081mrex.html That New York Times recipe and method is not so simple and easy as they make it sound. You eliminate about 10 minutes or less of kneading for an elaborate preparation using a Dutch oven. I did a side by side test of the same bread recipe using a traditional method and the NYT's method and reported it here. http://www.roadfood.com/F...-Bread-m375652-p2.aspx If you want a really simple no knead method baking the same way you normally bake then Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day by Jeff Hertzberg and Zoe Francois is the really easy way to go. http://www.artisanbreadinfive.com/

Davydd, I've made the NYT's recipe many times and I found it pretty easy and extremely tasty. I've never had any difficulty with it..but you are right about having to have the Dutch Oven setup. You recipe looks delicious....and that crust to die for. I like the addition of minced garlic and brown sugar. I'll have to give it a try soon.
